After two years of experiencing my husband's fight with cancer; and, my drive to research and find out as much information as possible to help 'heal' him..... I started taking classes at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts.... directing my studies to Holistic Nutrition this last January, 2011.
Presently, I am enrolled in Nutritional Therapies. Our instructor has asked us to start a blog so that we can journal our experiences in this class. The particular 'experience' that he is interested in ..... purchasing a hamburger or a cheeseburger from a fast food restaurant and ..... no, certainly not eating it...but, WATCHING it! :(
I have seen this 'study' before with Randy Grant, who owns Divine Nature in Mesa, and specializes in using enzymes and other supplements to strengthen and heal sickly bodies. I had taken my two younger girls to his office to meet him and have them tested for enzyme deficiency. :/ The three of us were at first stunned; but, then entertained when he pulled a very old-school McDonalds hamburger carrier out of his desk drawer. He opened it up and to our amazement, there was a hamburger. I don't remember the date of its 'order'; but, it was several years old and had not decomposed AT ALL. yuck.
So, this will be an interesting project. 28 days....watching a burger. Can I say from what drive thru? Okay....Wendy's. They were too expensive at Jack 'n the Box and there have already been McDonalds and Burger King hamburgers posted on other student's blogs.
My girls are excited to 'watch' on this project with me.
We bought the burger at 11:55 p.m. last night.....just moments before they closed...and more importantly, just before the Sabbath began....it was so close.
I was thinking that I would even grill up some of our 'fresh ranch' hamburger from New Mexico and maybe even make some homemade wheat bread and do a comparison study. ??? Maybe.
Watch and read along as we go through and learn about the disgusting 'foods' that America eats every day. There will be some things, maybe a lot of things, that you do not want to hear....but, you should listen anyway!
